Before setting up KarenMooreBiz Consulting, I worked with Scottish Waterways Trust as its Chief Executive from 2012-2018, where some of my greatest achievements were raising £16 million, growing the organisation’s income from £200k to £1.5m p.a. and creating the award-winning canal college®, a £1.4m outdoor skills and learning programme.

I established Karen Moore Biz back in 2018, offering strategic consultancy services including Interim Executive contracts, Executive Coaching & Mentoring, Strategic Planning and Organisational Reviews which you can learn more about in the services section.

I qualified as an accredited Executive Coach and Mentor in 2016 through the Edinburgh Coaching Academy and completed my training with the Thinking Project as a Time to Think Facilitator.

And when I’m not working

I live in Edinburgh with my partner – a long way from my home town of Liverpool, but fate brought me to Scotland and that’s where I have stayed for the last 25+ years. In my spare time, I enjoy running, cycling, walking and exploring Scotland’s natural treasures. I adore the world’s creatures but if pushed, I’d have to say cats hold a special place in my heart. I also love to cook and am at my happiest in the kitchen creating yummy vegetarian dishes.

Scottish Waterways Trust

Before setting up KarenMooreBiz Consulting, I worked with Scottish Waterways Trust as its Chief Executive from 2012-2018. Prior to that I was the Scottish Director for The Waterways Trust 2002-2011. I have 30 years experience in the non-profit sector and non-profit organisations.
